HE the Attorney General Dr. Ali Bin Fetais Al-Marri met with the U.S. Secretary of Treasury Jacob Lew in Washington DC, on April 30.
The meeting discussed mechanisms and ways to strengthen cooperation in the judicial field between the two countries in addition to some issues of common interest.
A spokesman for the U.S.Treasury Department said that the two sides discussed cooperation in combating terrorism financing.
He added that the U.S. Treasury Secretary expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the State of Qatar in the prosecution of terrorism financiers, praising the importance of the efforts undertaken by Qatar in this regard, and stressing the importance of close cooperation between the two countries.
HE the Attorney General also met with the Director of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) James Comey and a number of his assistants.
The two sides discussed a number of issues of common concern.
Ambassador Mohammed Al-Kuwari and members of delegation accompanying Attorney General Al-Marri attended the meeting. (QNA)
