The Defense Attaché Office participated in a ceremony to honour and support the children American veterans, organised by the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation. The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Washington was one of the main sponsors of the event.

This sponsorship is an extension of the bilateral strategic relations between the two countries.  This is the second annual gala hosted in New York City.
