Recent reports alleging that Qatar has trained members of Hamas are unequivocally false and defamatory. Such reports are not backed by any evidence, but are rather part of an ongoing and well-funded campaign to spread falsehoods about Qatar. This campaign has had the recent, unsuccessful objective of applying pressure on Qatar in order to derail our extensive mediation efforts in Gaza and prolong the war.

The organization making these claims and the individuals who amplify them have a well-documented track-record of contributing to an anti-Qatar disinformation campaign spanning many years. Their operatives have frequently been involved in the harassment and smearing of academics and journalists they disagree with – like those who support mediation efforts in Gaza and long-term peace in our region.

Any publications that provide these organizations and individuals with a platform to spread such falsehoods are complicit in this disinformation campaign. Despite these nefarious efforts, Qatar will not be deterred.
