Qatar's Ministry of Defense announced in a statement, that the Joaan bin Jassim Joint Command and Staff College, received the commander of the US Central Command, General Joseph Votel. His Excellency Major General (Pilot) Ghanem bin Shaheen, Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces, and Brigadier General Mohamed bin Hamad al-Nuaimi, Commander of Joaan bin Jassim College for Joint Command and Staff, as well as senior officers of the Qatari Armed Forces, met with General Votel.

During this visit, the statement added, General Votel delivered a lecture to the officers of the joint operations and the joint command and staff session, focusing on the US strategic interests in the Middle East.
