On January 13th, 2019 the United States and Qatar held the Second U.S.-Qatar Strategic Dialogue in Doha under the theme Forward Together. Chaired by U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the dialogue focused on: regional security and defense cooperation, education and culture, law enforcement and counterterrorism partnerships, commercial and energy cooperation, and labor issues.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani emphasized Qatar's appreciation of the participation of US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo in the second strategic dialogue between Qatar and the United States, which reflects the excellent historical relations between our two countries and the alliance that was built in the last decades.

His Highness the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met, on January 13, with the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on the sidelines of the second strategic dialogue between Qatar and the United States held this year in Doha.

The inaugural United States - Qatar Strategic Dialogue took place in Washington, D.C. on January 30th, 2018, highlighting the strength of the bilateral relationship between the two countries. The agenda for this inaugural Strategic Dialogue included defense, counterterrorism, combating extremism, and trade and investment.

The Embassy of the State of Qatar hosted hundreds of local students to celebrate Qatar’s National Sport Day in partnership with the award-winning youth development nonprofit DC SCORES.

HE Sheikh Meshal bin Hamad Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United States, hosted the reception celebrating Qatar National Day on December 7th, at the US Library of Congress. The event celebrated the importance of a strong U.S.-Qatar relationship and featured two prominent Members of Congress as guest speakers.

On Wednesday, November 8, the Embassy of the State of Qatar held the inaugural Autism Awareness Gala to benefit Autism Speaks. The Gala was held at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and this year’s gala theme was “Together for Autism: Ensuring Acceptance and Accessibility.”

The Embassy of the State of Qatar - in partnership with Autism Speaks - will host the inaugural Autism Awareness Gala “Together for Autism: Ensuring Acceptance and Accessibility” at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Qatar is entering its fourth month of social, economic, and diplomatic blockade. Though we remain under the conditions of the blockade, Qatar has continued to focus on the pillars of development outlined in our National Vision 2030, as well as strengthening US-Qatar ties. We have accomplished much this past month.
